Assuring that the Universidad Austral “continues to respond to the Superintendency of Education” and that “there is no recovery plan,” the Senator DC Iván Flores He pointed out to the directors of this House of Higher Studies, pointing out that “no progress has been made and they are in big trouble.”

Flores added that “what there is is a list of minor adjustments, where to vary the thread is cut at the thinnest, the reduction of the number of workers, some some terms of some benefits, but only for the workers because there is no adjustment neither in salary nor in benefits nor in conditions for the managers, much less for the rector, and that is not leading by example. Whoever gets angry, whether it is the rector, the same or the board of directors, who still do not assume the responsibility they have had for being the guarantors of the institution’s assets.
The senator from Los Ríos also pointed out that “the report presented by the University, which is not a development plan, nor a recovery plan, is simply a list of minor adjustments and some minor decisions. First, the permanent deficit of flows is not resolved and there is no structural change in the administrative organization of the University. Nothing changes. In short, the University did not make the mistake and here I am going to say it very clearly: either the rector and its team do not know how, or they cannot how or they do not want to how. And this is exactly harmful for the Austral University.”
Finally, Flores stated that “clearly, betting on future sales with future speculative prices does not offer a solution even close to what the supervisory institutions or in this case the Superintendency of Higher Education or the Undersecretariat of Higher Education will assume. I think that the Austral University is in a big problem, because everything that has happened during these months has not allowed it to finally have a decent recovery plan, having faculties of Economic Sciences, having different faculties with specialists. The question is, do these specialists not know or were they not consulted by the rectory? The effect is exactly as harmful”
