Samsung has unveiled a new line-up of its flagship smartphones, introducing a number of artificial intelligence features that the phone maker says will usher in a ‘new era of mobile (phones).’ will begin.

The Galaxy S24, S24 Plus and S24 Ultra mobile phones will go on sale from January 31.

The Korean technology giant says that these mobile phones will be equipped with Galaxy AI capabilities.

These mobile phones include several artificial intelligence tools. The phone has real-time translation capabilities for voice calls and texts, a chat assist tool to suggest the correct tone for messages, a note-taking and voice-to-text tool that will convert phone conversations into text. This tool will be able to translate conversations and even generate summaries of conversations with bullet points.

In addition, the S24 range will be among the first devices to use Google’s Circle to Search feature, which will allow users to circle, highlight or tap on anything on the screen.

For example, when a specific item or a franchise is highlighted in a video, it will trigger a search on the website about it.

The feature can be used in any app running on the phone and so far only the S24 range and Google’s flagship Pixel 8 mobile phones have been confirmed to feature the feature.

AI tools have been extended to the camera. New editing tools are available to rearrange images. Also, the space created when an object in the images is removed from its place can be filled by generative AI.

Samsung says that many of the AI ​​tools will work on the mobile phone instead of the cloud using an internet connection, which means the tools will be accessible even when the user doesn’t have a data connection. will better protect data and privacy.

Artificial intelligence has become a major technology trend in this sector over the past 12 months. More companies want to bring this technology to consumers through their products.

James Kitto, the company’s vice president and head of the MX division at Samsung Electronics UK, told PA News: ‘We see the smartphone as an obvious and natural entry point into artificial intelligence and we have Samsung I have the unique ability to introduce artificial intelligence solutions and the era of artificial intelligence mobile phone technology. Paolo Pescatore, founder of analyst firm PP Foresight, agreed that the S24 could be ‘the start of a new era in the world of smartphones’.

He said: ‘With this in mind, Samsung has to come up with a range of competitive offers to attract customers that suit everyone. Among those are older Samsung users who will inevitably be looking for a much-needed upgrade.’
