In the session room of the Honorable Superior Council (HCS), the ceremony of distinction as Doctor Honoris Causa of the National University of Tucumán of the lawyer, jurist, sociologist, writer and academic Roberto Gargarella took place. In addition to the distinguished person, the table of honor was made up of the vice-rector, Dr. Mercedes Leal; the dean of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, Dr. Cristina Grunauer de Falú and Mag. Manuel Martínez Novillo, who gave a profile of Gargarella’s career.

“Receiving this distinction is a moment of great joy, pride and gratitude. This recognition is something that is kept for a lifetime and represents a significant milestone,” stressed the honoree. Then, in the golden book he expressed a thought: “the beauty of Law is this: Law cannot speak another language; “It has no other language than that of equality.”

The vice-rector, for her part, said that “the university recognizes in him a luxury academic, whose distinction not only honors his own work, but also contributes significantly to the training of future disciples in areas as fundamental and challenging as those he has addressed throughout his career.” The dean of Law pointed out Dr. Gargarella’s contributions to the field of critical constitutionalism.
