Reprimanded by KPI for dressing in a feminine style, Ivan Gunawan had this to say

Jakarta – The Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) has reprimanded TV show Brownis for featuring its host, Ivan Gunawan, wearing clothing considered feminine. It is believed that Ivan’s appearance violates the ethics and norms that apply in society.

Ivan Gunawan’s appearance under questioning by KPI occurred on October 30, 2023. The appearance was deemed to violate the 2012 KPI Broadcasting Programs Code of Conduct and Standards (P3 and SPS).

“We must prevent anything that does not comply with the rules from becoming commonly used and being imitated by children. Article 15, paragraph 1, explains that the programs broadcast must pay attention to and protect the interests of children and/or adolescents ” said KPI Broadcast Content Supervision Coordinator: Pusat Tulus Santoso in the KPI press release cited by Wolipop.

Ivan Gunawan appeared dressed all in black in this episode. The man who is familiarly called Igun appeared in a sequined jacket with fur details on the shoulders.

On the bottom, Igun wore black shorts. Then for his shoes, Ivan wears high-heeled moccasins.

Ivan opened his voice regarding this matter. On his Instagram, the 42-year-old explained his style at the Brownis event on October 30, 2023.

“To my KPI friends, thank you for the heads up,” Ivan Gunawan said at the start of his Instagram video, Thursday (4/12/2024).

“This is the fashion trend of the 60s. In the 60s, how people looked when they went to a party. It’s the 60s from America, from Europe, yes, in Indonesia that year, we don’t understand well the But the style is more or less like this, guys, you can see it,” added the designer who showed photos of 1960s fashion styles.

In his statement, Ivan Gunawan also argued that items such as high heels are not exclusive to women. High heels are part of fashion that can also be worn by men.

“Look @kpicentral, this is a fashion trend from the 60s. Our ancestors wore boots with high heels. When you go to a party @brownis_ttv, heels are not just for girls… you understand the meaning of fashion nga be,” Ivan Gunawan wrote.

Hence, the crown accessory on his head is a sign of Igun’s achievements in the international world. Ivan received a golden crown as the winner of the Golden Grand Award for Best National Director at the Miss Grand International event.

“Then why do I wear a crown? I have achieved internationally, I have an international license and I am appreciated for my performance, that’s why the crown is my pride… So I will always be proud of my crown. !!!” Ivan wrote again.
