The organizing committee of the celebration of the 130th anniversary of the FMTA.

The FMTA or Malagasy Church Tranozoro Antranobiriky in Ambatonakanga is currently celebrating its 130th anniversary. The coup d’envoi will be launched on the 1stis april. It will be marked by a cult at its central headquarters in the presence of high state authorities. Another service will follow on April 14 with the 250 branches of this church throughout Madagascar. Pastor Thierry Andrianary, president of the organizing committee for this 130th anniversary, announced that this celebration, which will last until 2025, will be marked by several events, including the rehabilitation of a training center in Ampitatafika. It will also be an opportunity to make the general public aware of the values of this Calvinist Protestant church which are reflected in charitable actions. As a reminder, the FMTA was founded in 1894. Following internal conflicts, Pastor Rajaonary, who was originally a faithful member of the LMS (London Missionary Society), made, with the help of people who followed, a construction made of nutsedges at the bottom of the Protestant temple of Ambatonakanga where the faithful came to pray. They later built a brick house on the site where the FMTA is currently located, which was officially recognized on 1is April 1894. Pastor Rajaonary had studied in England and was also among the missionaries who translated the Bible and composed hymns which still appear today in the hymn booklet of the Federation of Protestant Churches of Madagascar (FFPM).
