Havana Cuba. – Cuban activist and former political prisoner Luis Andrés Domínguez Sardiñas denounced in an interview with CubaNet that the Popular Provincial Court of Havana finally sentenced him to three years of deprivation of liberty for the crime of “other acts against the security of the State.”

The Court also handed down a sentence against Jorge Luis Boada Valdés and Johan Carlos Izquierdo Terán.

“The sanction was decided long before. At the trial my innocence was clear since the lawyer destroyed all the arguments raised by the Prosecutor’s Office. I should have been acquitted and, however, I was acquitted for sentencing. And now here is the proof that there is no justice: they sentenced me to three years of deprivation of liberty,” denounced the opponent.

According to Domínguez Sardiñas, the sentence was delivered to him last Saturday by his lawyer, who informed him that he could now file an appeal.

According to the document issued by the Popular Provincial Court of Havana, to which CubaNet had access, Jorge Luis Boada Valdés was sentenced to nine years in prison for the crime of “propaganda against the constitutional order.”

According to the document, Boada Valdés was acquitted of the crime “other acts against the security of the State” due to the lack of “necessary elements of typicality.”

In the case of Johan Carlos Izquierdo Terán, the document states that the Court agreed to punish him with three years of deprivation of liberty for the crime of “other acts against the security of the State”, as well as absolve him of the crime of “enemy propaganda” for not the evidence examined be sufficient.

This would be the sixth time that the Cuban regime has sent Luis Andrés Domínguez Sardiñas to prison for political reasons. On this occasion, State Security took him to court after receiving information that he would receive a package from abroad with rubber bands to throw stones and confront the Police, according to the opponent himself.
