Rape list, famous school is getting defamed

According to a report by Australian website The Nightly, four students of Yarra Valley Grammar have been suspended. According to the report, this decision has been taken after a spreadsheet came to light. Girl students were included in the list in a derogatory manner. It is reported that the names of the girl students were written in lists like ‘wifeies’, ‘cuties’ and ‘not worthy of rape’.

Last Wednesday, the spreadsheet went viral on social media platform Discord. Since then the controversy had gained momentum. It is being said that the list was prepared jointly by 11 students. As soon as the news broke, a meeting was held in the school and the parents of the students included in the list were called. School Principal Dr. Mark Mary also attended the meeting.

According to the report, while talking to Channel 9, Dr. Mary said, ‘My first reaction was that it is very scary that such a cruel thing can be done and such a disrespectful attitude can be maintained towards any of our students.’ He said, ‘My priority is for the girls who have been targeted. This is my first concern. At the same time, I also have to hold responsible those who have done this. He has also expressed happiness over the suspension of the students responsible. “This is disgusting and horrifying,” he said. I am happy that the students have been suspended. He has talked about providing counseling to the girl students in the school.
