SAN LUIS POTOSÍ, Mexico.- The prosecutor’s offices of Cuba and Russia, in a meeting that took place this Tuesday at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba, signed a cooperation program that includes topics such as “legal assistance” in criminal cases and “the use of digital technologies.

According to the information provided by the Russian embassy on the island, the bilateral agreements were signed by the Attorney General of the Russian Federation, Igor V. Krasnov, and the Attorney General of the Republic of Cuba, Yamila Peña Ojeda.

The cooperation program will extend until 2026, and includes “activities in the field of protection of the rights of minors, legal assistance in criminal cases, the use of digital technologies and other topics,” the organization wrote in a tweet. diplomatic headquarters.

The meeting is part of an official visit by the Prosecutor General of Russia, Igor V. Krasnov. So far, no further details of the meeting between representatives of both allied regimes have emerged.

On that occasion, Silvera Martínez traveled to Russia in October 2023 and also met with the vice president of the Russian Supreme Court, Sergei Rudakov.

According to the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINREX) of Cuba, last October’s talks addressed “the excellent state of relations between these entities and their Cuban counterparts” and “the possibility of promoting and developing cooperation on legal issues, legal and training of specialists.
