He persistently convinces the police and the judge of his innocence, in vain. Tennis boss Ivo Kaderka (60), who has already spent four nights behind bars, has a problem. The public prosecutor has already prepared a full cart of evidence for him!
He has been in a cell since Tuesday’s police intervention, and on Thursday the court imposed custody on him. He heard the reasons of public prosecutor Ondřej Trčka, that Kaderka, who was guilty of misusing state subsidies, could also be implicated in the investigation of mischief with his crony Vojtěch Flégl (56). “There was and still is a danger of jeopardizing the interrogations of witnesses and co-accused who have not yet been heard, and thereby obstructing the investigation,” explained Trček.
Photographer Blesk managed to capture the moment in the corridor of the District Court for Prague 7 when an assistant was bringing a shopping cart crammed with files of documents into the courtroom. There is no doubt that it was Trček’s trump cards against Kaderek. And there weren’t many of them!
Executioner of bosses
Yes, Kaderka has a strong opponent against her, who goes hard for what she wants. He acts as the executioner of powerful bosses from the world of sports. Trčka became famous as a supervising public prosecutor for his vigorous actions in the case of football boss Pelta. The deposed director of the Ruzyne prison even stated before the court that Trčka on the phone… “He yelled at my deputy that he would strip her of her uniform because they did not escort the defendant Pelta to the prison in Litoměřice.”
A minor thing? Maybe, but even that says something. It can be expected that even in the case of Kaderka, she will go straight for the goal. The tennis boss is currently on the deep defensive under the storm of Trčkovy aces. He was only able to file a complaint against the decision by which he was taken into custody, but it had no effect.
The police accuse Kaderka of subsidy fraud and of negotiating an advantage in the awarding of a public contract, for which he faces up to ten years in prison.
