Another industrial park will be set up in Natore by Pran-RFL Group, the pioneer of the country’s agro-processing industry. The group plans to set up noodles, spices, mustard oil and fish processing plants there. As a result, more than 1000 people will be employed in Natore.
At present, around 13 thousand contract farmers in Natore produce mangoes, tomatoes, pulses, almonds, chillies and milk for a living. In the future, Pran is going to bring some products including sugar powder rice, turmeric and cassava under contract farming. In this, five thousand more contract farmers of this district will be joined with Prana.
PRAN-RFL Group Director (Marketing) Kamruzzaman Kamal said these things in an exchange meeting organized with local journalists on the occasion of the two-year anniversary of Pran Agro Limited factory in Natore on Wednesday (March 6).
In 2000, Prana factory was established at Ekdala, Natore. During the two eras of the Pran-RFL group, the socio-economic conditions have undergone massive changes. So far the country’s leading industrial group has invested about one and a half thousand crores in Natore. During this period, about 22 thousand people of this district are directly and indirectly making a living on the factory of Pran Agro Limited, a subsidiary of Pran-RFL Group, who are involved in various activities including product production, seasonal activities and product supply. The products manufactured in Pran Agro Limited’s factories include Masala, Mustard Oil, Laccha Semai, Sauce-Ketchup, Jelly, Pickle, Chutney, Noodles, Mayonnaise, Chocolate and various types of chips.

Kamruzzaman Kamal said that not only products are produced in Natore, but most of the raw materials required for the production of agri-processed products of Pran Group are collected from Natore and neighboring districts. PRAN has procured agricultural produce worth around Tk 1.5 thousand crores during the financial year 2022-23 from contract farmers in Natore.
He further said that the products manufactured by Pran-RFL Group have a huge demand in the country and are currently being exported regularly to 145 countries of the world. As the demand for the products continues to increase, we increase the production capacity in our factories from time to time. Getting gas connection to Natore will make investment easier. With the cooperation of Natore administration, public representatives, local people and all concerned, there is a plan to expand business in this district and purchase more raw materials from farmers.
Kamruzzaman Kamal said that as a result of PRAN-RFL overall activities in Natore, the socio-economic conditions have changed, the group is contributing huge amount of revenue to the government every year, which is accelerating the economic development of the country.

Hazrat Ali, general manager of Pran Agro Limited factory, said that Pran-RFL is not only producing products, marketing, creating employment or buying products from contractual farmers in this region, but also conducting various activities as part of social responsibility. PRAN-RFL is carrying out various activities in the area adjacent to the factory including construction of roads, providing scholarships to school and college students, assisting religious places of worship, planting trees. Besides, there are plans to open a public school here soon.
He also said that Pran-RFL Group started the 50-bed Amjad Khan Chowdhury Memorial Hospital in Natore in 2016 so that the people of this area can get quality medical services at low cost. Moreover, the group launched Amjad Khan Chowdhury Nursing College in 2022 to further contribute to Natore area in the health sector.
