PP and VOX put forward their second budgets in Castile and Leon

PP and VOX have approved alone the General Budget of Castilla y León for 2024 which amounts to 14,562 million euros, the highest in the history of the Autonomous Community, without introducing any of the 2,305 partial amendments from the opposition that had arrived alive at the last parliamentary procedure.

The two groups that support the coalition Government in Castilla y León have also managed to carry out, again alone, the Law on Tax, Financial and Administrative Measures that accompanies this year’s accounts, the approval of which will put an end to the extension of the 2023 budgets, a situation that has lasted four months.

Most of the amendments that had remained alive for the last debate and that have not seen the light corresponded to the Socialist Parliamentary Group, with 1,061, while 448 have been defended by UPL, 236 by the attorney for Valladolid Francisco Igea, 235 by Unidas- Podemos, 222 by Soria Now! and 103 by the representative of Por Ávila.

It must be remembered that in this parliamentary procedure the Cortes Table did not admit for processing three of the thirteen amendments that the PP and VOX parliamentary groups registered to the draft Law on Tax, Financial and Administrative Measures and that led the Socialist Group to present an appeal reconsideration due to the “traps” of PP and VOX to change up to 29 laws. The three inadmissible amendments referred to the Noise Law, the Pharmaceutical Regulation Law and the Animal Health Law.

The vice president of the Board, Juan García-Gallardo, has celebrated the approval of the Budgets in its ‘X’ account. «Faced with the instability of the central government, today in the Cortes of Castilla y León we have approved the second budgets of the legislature of the first PP-VOX coalition government, which I have the honor and responsibility of vice-presidency. “The #sowing continues,” he stated.

In his speech in the plenary session of the Cortes in defense of the two texts, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Carlos Fernández Carriedo, asked “with humility and conviction” for a favorable vote on the 2024 budget for guarantee equality and the future and because it is designed for people, “the most relevant thing,” he stated.

“Each person’s problems are the most relevant for us and because in Castilla y León no one can consider themselves more important than others, and no one can put themselves above the rest,” added the counselor who claimed that The Community has shown that taxes can be lowered and public services improvedreduce the unemployment rate and advance adequate budget management.

For her part, the spokesperson for Economy and Finance of the Socialist Parliamentary Group, Rosa Rubio, has conveyed to the chamber that the General Budgets of the Community (PGC) reflect the “failure” of the Government of the Junta formed by PP and VOX, and They reveal their “inefficiency” and the consequences of “corruption.”

So, The PP coalition with VOX has been present in all the arguments used by the PSOE in the debate on the 2024 accounts. in government. The accounts are presented “close to fascism”: “Mañueco sits down and hugs the fascists with whom he shares a table, tablecloth and government.”

The rest of the opposition groups have also defended different proposals for the regional accounts without achieving any of them to go ahead and be included in this year’s accounts. Thus, the attorney for UPL Alicia Gallego González has considered that the budget is “a political tool that should be essential and should be approved before the end of the year so that it would have its benefit at the beginning of January.”

Likewise, the spokesperson for Soria Ya, Angel Cenahas supported UPL’s impression by ensuring that the Budget project is “opaque”, an “opacity” that is “very far” from the commitments to transparency that the Board “constantly announces.”

For his part, the attorney Francisco Igea He has defended his amendments, which have mostly focused on Health, with the focus on Primary Care and the need to carry out a “deep reform.” “We have talked about this so many times that it is almost pointless to insist,” she concluded.

Finally, the attorney United We Can, Pablo Fernandez, who had to be absent at the end of the Plenary due to illness, has defended numerous amendments to the different sections of the accounts despite joking about his lack of faith and hope in the possibility that PP and VOX will approve any. Thus, the attorney paraphrased Paul of Tarsus to assure that he has “a lot of love” but confess, immediately afterwards, that he cannot “stand” this Plenary Session of budgets.
