PiS members don’t believe what they hear about Mariusz Kamiński’s health

PiS members do not believe what the Penitentiary Service tells them about the state of health of Mariusz Kamiński, the former head of the CBA currently detained in Radom. The reason for poor health, as PiS politicians say, is, among others, chronic diseases.

Former head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration Mariusz Kamiński, sentenced to two years in prison in connection with the land scandal, is in the Radom detention center. According to information provided by PiS MP Marek Suski and obtained in custody, Mariusz Kamiński is in a hospital ward and is being administered drugs – after the administration of these drugs, Kamiński’s health condition should have improved.

One of our PiS interlocutors adds that the knowledge obtained from Suski shows this: – Kamiński’s health has changed from bad to slightly better, but also bad.

As he told Republika TV, Suski heard that Kamiński was in a hospital ward. -The director informed me that Mariusz Kamiński is in the hospital ward and they are taking drugs and that after the administration of the drugs his health condition has improved – Suski said.

There is little confidence in PiS that the information provided by the prison service regarding Kamiński’s health is true. They don’t believe what Suski and other PiS politicians hear about their colleagues behind bars, especially Kamiński.

The Penitentiary Service responded to the claims of politicians from the PiS camp in a response sent to Onet: “The Penitentiary Service is obliged to ensure the personal safety of prisoners, but is also obliged to provide each prisoner with adequate healthcare. A prisoner the patient diagnosed with a health problem is provided with adequate medical care and is guaranteed treatment appropriate to the current state of health and the doctor’s recommendations.

Among PiS politicians we hear that Mariusz Kamiński suffers from chronic illnesses, so his stay in prison will endanger his health and life. For privacy reasons they do not reveal any details. Furthermore, Kamiński is in poor health, not an athlete at all, and immediately started a hunger strike in prison.

The PiS president himself highlighted Kamiński’s poor health. – The hunger strike has reached its sixth day. It is not healthy for anyone, and you all know that Mariusz Kamiński is not a man of great stature, who – despite his modest stature – has reserves to exploit, as here (the PiS president emphasized to himself – ed. . ). His condition is certainly very serious at the moment, Kaczyński said slightly jokingly in his statement.

PiS politicians continue to bite their tongues in public statements, but some speak even more harshly when speaking off the record. – The government tells us “either we kill your man or you let us take over the entire country.” If something happened, it would be a political murder – says a politician close to Nowogrodzka.

PiS politicians speak very directly about the threat to Kamiński’s life, but at the same time the imprisonment of Kamiński and Wąsik is political fuel for PiS itself. Perfect fuel, which is why Nowogrodzka – led by the president of PiS – is trying to transform the story of the imprisonment of its politicians into a new myth, and to spread the belief that the life of one of the heroes of this myth is in danger only makes it more credible. The right camp began to consolidate, its internal battles began to calm down, and the “March of Free Poles” organized by PiS turned out to be a success (although the estimates of the Warsaw city hall, the media and PiS itself are very different) .

– Kamiński and Wąsik are not wimps and if they knew that time spent in prison mobilizes the party, they would definitely prefer to stay – says a person from the PiS group.

Emotions in PiS are different towards Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik. It’s not that the entire party is on his side, after all they were in conflict with some people in their camp. But others hold a grudge against the president because he clings to the fact that he had already pardoned Kamiński and Wąsik in 2015 and that he could have released them from prison with just one signature. On the other hand, the PiS president himself, as we hear in this party, “does not want PiS politicians – according to Jarosław Kaczyński they are innocent – but would also like them to be released from behind bars according to the law”. Basically, this means they definitely won’t be coming out anytime soon. This “law enforcement” on Nowogrodzka Street is understood thus: not through the second act of clemency of the president (after the 2015 one) based on the Constitution, but on the basis of that act or as a result of the procedure initiated by President Andrzej Duda resulting by the criminal code of conduct. Interestingly, however, Nowogrodzka was surprised by the president’s decision to initiate a new pardon procedure.

The President has appointed the Minister of Justice, prof. Adam Bodnar is faced with the dilemma of whether – and this is what the president is asking – to suspend the execution of the sentence until the pardon procedure is concluded.

The pardon for Kamiński and Wąsik is the subject of a tough political game. First, the government camp publicly tried to convince Andrzej Duda to give in and forgive his PiS colleagues again, which would make him admit his 2015 mistake and humiliate himself. And then the president transferred responsibility to the government (in the person of Justice Minister Adam Bodnar) by starting another pardon procedure, in which it is up to the minister to decide whether PiS politicians will be released from behind bars.

The Presidential Palace exerts very strong pressure on Adam Bodnar, stronger than PiS itself. -I think it is no surprise to anyone that Mr. Kamiński’s continued imprisonment threatens his life. From a political point of view, today Mariusz Kamiński’s life and health are in the hands of Adam Bodnar – Marcin Mastalerek, head of the presidential office, told Radio Zet. Andrzej Duda would like to release two PiS politicians from prison, but at the hands of Bodnar.
