Martin Laas finished first in the final stage of the 2024 Ho Chi Minh City Cycling Cup, but this victory did not help the Estonian rider overthrow Petr Rikunov’s yellow jersey title.
The final leg from Cao Lanh (Dong Thap) to Ho Chi Minh City, 163 km long, took place with a very special meaning when competing on the anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country on April 30.

After many continuous attacks, two riders Nguyen Pham Quoc Khang (Pelio Kenda Dong Nai) and Ha Kieu Tan Dai (Binh Minh Plastics Binh Duong) successfully separated the group and shared the prizes along the way (Sprint 1 and Sprint 2).
The attack effort in the following group helped 4 riders, notably Loic Desriac (Domesco Dong Thap Pharmacy), Nguyen Truc Xinh (Ho Chi Minh City Vinama), Ngo Hoang Nhu (Military Region 7) join the top group, but Nor could it prevent Nguyen Pham Quoc Khang’s victory at Sprint 3.

The sprint competition at the finish line in front of Thong Nhat Hall (Ho Chi Minh City) took place attractively between the strongest sprinters in this year’s race.
As a result, world-class racer, who has participated in many professional Grand Tours, Martin Laas (620 Chau Thoi Vinh Long) surpassed Le Nguyet Minh and Quang Van Cuong to win the stage for the 8th time.
