Emergency situations are complicated for patients who live far from major centers: long and expensive trips to receive cancer treatment or pregnancy checks, huge sums are spent to cover hotel and restaurant costs during life-saving treatments.
There are also elderly people who leave their region of origin to live closer to large hospital centers or who refuse treatment so as not to be far from their family.
