Palace reveals that the KPK leadership committee consists of 9 people

JAKARTA – The Palace revealed the members of the selection committee (pansel) for leadership candidates (capim) and the supervisory board (dewas) of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) totaling nine people.

“The membership of the panel will be 9 people, consisting of 5 people from government elements and 4 people from community elements who will be determined through a Presidential Decree,” said Presidential Special Staff Coordinator Ari Dwipayana, Thursday (9/5/2024).

Ari said that the names of the selection committee candidates were still in the process of being finalized by paying attention to input and expectations from the community. “The names of prospective members of the KPK Pansel Capim and Dewas are still being discussed by taking into account the community’s expectations to get members of the selection committee who are credible and have integrity,” said Ari.

As previously reported, Presidential Special Staff Coordinator Ari Dwipayana revealed that the KPK leadership committee would be announced this month. Currently the formation process is still ongoing. However, Ari did not reveal in detail who the candidates who would become the KPK leadership committee were.

“The formation of the KPK Capim Pansel is still in process and is planned to be announced this month,” said Ari, Wednesday 8 May 2024.

It should be noted that the KPK leadership’s term of office will expire at the end of 2024. The KPK leadership should only serve for 4 years and end last year 2023. However, the Constitutional Court (MK) granted the request of the Deputy Chair of the Corruption Eradication Commission, Nurul Ghufron, to extend the term of office to 5 year and will end this year.
