Azerbaijan’s national futsal team has started its next game in the elite stage of the WC-2024.

The first part of the match, which took place in the Baku Sports Palace, was dominated by Vitali Borisov’s students. Our team was able to break the opponent’s resistance at the end of the first half. Rafael Vilela scored two consecutive goals in the 18th and 19th minutes.
The visitors replaced one of these balls immediately after the break. Dariush Nastai scored in the 22nd minute. Nevertheless, Vilela made his hat-trick official in the 25th minute. But the Romanians reduced the difference to a minimum three minutes later thanks to Andor Balint’s goal. Although Daniel Araujo restored the status quo with a penalty kick in the 32nd minute, our national team took the lead again just 20 seconds later. This time, Tofig Mikayilov wrote his name on the scoreboard.
In the 34th minute, Amir Shojaei appeared on the stage. He first found his way to the opponent’s goal, and a few seconds later he scored an own goal. Yonut-Andrey Nemitanu brought his team’s attack to a logical end in the 36th minute.
As the teams’ attempts in the last minutes did not give any results, the match ended with a score of 5:5. With this, both Azerbaijan and Romania have increased the number of points in the group to 4.
In the other game of the group yesterday, Kazakhstan beat the Netherlands with a score of 2:0.
It should be noted that the matches of the last round will be held on December 20. On that day, Azerbaijan will be the guest of the Netherlands, and Kazakhstan will be the guest of Romania.
