The hospital authorities have issued a notice to the officials and employees not to give any information to the journalists due to the publication of news in Jago News about various crises including medicines in Sylhet MAG Osmani Hospital. On Tuesday (February 13), the deputy director of the hospital issued a notice. Soumitra Chakraborty. Copies of the notice have been sent to 13 offices including heads of each department of the hospital.

Before this, on February 10, Jago News published a report titled ‘Osmani Hospital in acute drug shortage’. Apart from the drug shortage, the report also highlighted the disruption of CT scan tests due to lack of film. Also, the report highlights that there is no supply of medicine including injection syringes, saline sets, normal saline.

After the publication of this report, the hospital authorities were shaken. Director Brigadier General Mahbubur Rahman Bhuiyan is strict in preventing corruption in the hospital by supervising various matters. In this situation, the deputy director of the hospital Dr. not to give any information to the journalists. Soumitra Chakraborty has issued a notice to the officers and employees.

In the notice, he mentioned, ‘Lately it is observed that various information is being disclosed from Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, especially to journalists, which is not desirable in any way. Therefore, all concerned are requested not to publish any information related to the hospital without the permission of the authorities, including journalists of print and electronic media. In case of violation, action will be taken against the concerned person as per the rules.’ He sent copies of the notice to 13 departments of the hospital.

In this regard, Deputy Director of the hospital Soumitra Chakraborty told Jago News that our staff from different places are giving wrong and inconsistent information. The rule is that assignees should give information with the permission of any office head. This is our instruction. But it has been seen that the technologist gives the information, if you go to the ticket counter, the people at the counter also give the information. Their information does not match the reality. Due to which informational confusion is created.

He said, from the CT scan, one test takes 5 films. But it is not correct. Their incoherent talk is causing confusion. This notice is not given to keep any information confidential.
