Vienna (OTS) – What is the secret of love? How is the thriving business with big feelings going? And how do you love in America? The ORF 1 documentary evening on Valentine’s Day is all about love. “Doc 1:” will kick off on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at 8:15 p.m.
“The Secret of Love”: Lisa Gadenstätter learns the very personal stories of her talk guests in Vienna’s oldest love hotel. At 9:05 p.m. in “ORF 1 Special: Love, Heart, Commerce” Mariella Gittler presents reports and fact checks about the flourishing business with big feelings and welcomes the “Couchgehisper” podcasters Sinah Edhofer and Leonie-Rachel Soyel, data protection officer Hannes Stummer and Criminal defense attorney Michael Lanzinger in the studio. At 9:55 p.m., “Love and Sex in the USA – Profit, Prudery and Polyamory” documents the United States.

For the Valentine’s Day edition of “Dok 1” Lisa Gadenstätter sets out to find the secrets of love. In a place that knows thousands of such secrets and knows how to keep them: in Vienna’s oldest love hotel, the “Orient”. In his rooms, none of which are alike, she meets guests who can contribute their own stories on this topic. Beate and Ulrich Heinen, for example, who were once known as sister Felicitas and brother Ulrich. Today they are happily married to each other. Or the Swiss Ramon Vegas: When the luxury call boy is booked by his customers, true feelings of love should be taboo. But is that even possible? Tennis professional Nico Langmann, who has been in a wheelchair since childhood, talks about how love and sex can be shaped with a disability. And the Viennese Elena Maria Del Carlo describes her many wanderings when it comes to love – but also the great realization that will hopefully help her to have a happy love life. Medical-scientific insertions come from doctor and cabaret artist Ronny Tekal. Lisa Gadenstätter also pays a visit to the successful actress Emily Cox. Because she too is willing to share a secret: how she manages to credibly portray such a personal feeling as love in front of a camera.
