Today, a long queue formed in front of City Clinical Hospital No. 5 in Baku. The people standing in the queue were those who went to the hospital through the compulsory medical insurance line.

Publika.az news reports that in response to the inquiry sent by “Qafqazinfo” regarding the issue, it was stated that during the filming period, Narimanov Medical Center received a total of 1,585 applications, including 1,541 outpatients and 44 inpatients. Those patients benefited from more than 6,000 services. These services include services such as a qualified doctor’s examination, ultrasound examination, laboratory tests and others:

“With the introduction of compulsory medical insurance, citizens had to first apply to the field doctor, and based on his referral, they were referred to qualified doctors. Currently, in order for citizens to find a solution to their access to services, they can directly contact a qualified doctor, there is no need to contact a family doctor anymore. There are numerous direct appeals for help from a qualified physician. On the basis of these, instrumental-laboratory examinations are increasing. This causes quite a lot of queues in some hospitals.”

It was also reported from the institution that various steps are being discussed in order to regulate this in the future.

“For example, the possibility of making an appointment through the “e-tabib” application and registering online can help prevent these queues.

Instead of directly contacting qualified doctors, our citizens can visit family doctors assigned to polyclinics to avoid queues. Family doctors will correctly diagnose their health problems and refer them to qualified doctors, which will also save them time. Without the appointment of a family doctor, the patient may not assess the health condition correctly. For example, he will go to see a therapist because of a headache, but he should actually see a neuropathologist.”
