The Secretary of the United States Department of State, Antony Blinken, arrived in Tel Aviv this Tuesday night, as part of his regional tour, to meet with the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and other members of the Government in the middle of the intense negotiations to achieve a ceasefire and the exchange of prisoners between Israel and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).

Blinken, who is on his seventh visit to Israel since the Hamas attacks on October 7, plans to meet with the president, Isaac Herzog, with the Minister of Defense, Yoav Gallant, and with the National Security Advisor, Tzachi Hanegbi, according to the newspaper ‘The Times of Israel’.

The head of US diplomacy will also visit the Kerem Shalom crossing and the port of Ashdod, from where humanitarian aid enters the Gaza Strip, and will hold a meeting with relatives of Americans kidnapped by the Palestinian group.

Blinken has landed in Israeli territory after his stay in Saudi Arabia and Jordan. In the latter country he has met with both King Abdullah II and his Jordanian counterpart, Ayman Safadi, whom he has thanked for their leadership in sending humanitarian aid to Gaza, as published on his account. social network

In addition, he met with the UN Senior Coordinator of Humanitarian Affairs and Reconstruction for the Gaza Strip, Sigrid Kaag, to whom he expressed his opinion that a greater flow of assistance to the Palestinian enclave is necessary.

Finally, he held a meeting with Gazan families, who told him “the suffering” that their relatives are experiencing from the Strip, where more than 34,500 Palestinians have already died.
