NRB-PBO 3-day literature and culture conference begins – 2024-02-23 10:26:46

The three-day first NRB-PBO literature and culture conference has started with the literary works of non-resident Bangladeshi (NRB) and Bangladeshi-origin (PBO) poets, writers, cultural activists.

On Thursday (February 22) afternoon, the meeting was inaugurated by the Prime Minister’s Advisor on Education and Culture at Abdul Karim Sahitya Bisharad Auditorium of Bangla Academy. Kamal Abdul Nasser Chowdhury.

In the opening speech. Kamal Abdul Nasser Chowdhury said, ‘I actually don’t want to use the word expatriate, they are our relatives. There is a lot of discussion about the practice of Bengali language, but it is not applied much. I thank the organizers for doing various things including literature conference with expatriates.’

Special guest is the former vice-chancellor of Visva Bharati University. Holy Govt., cultural personality Ramendu Majumder, Cultural Affairs Secretary Khalil Ahmad spoke.

Professor Dr. The holy government said, ‘One should keep one’s country in one’s heart. I don’t know if there is any such organization for expatriates in any other country in the world. Bangladesh is leading in this regard. By coming to this conference, I got the best reward of my life. I always stand on one leg to come to any event in Bangladesh.’

Ramendu Majumder said, ‘For the first time such an arrangement is being held on such a large scale – which impressed me. The arrangement time is also very good. Expatriates always carry a piece of Bangladesh in their chest.’

Khalil Ahmad said, ‘The organization of such a literary conference of expatriates is really commendable. It is great to highlight the creative work of expats. The experience of the officials working in different embassies of Bangladesh can be presented in the form of a book. He launched the NRB Scholars Publishers website (www.nspublishers.com).

At the beginning of the program there was a cultural performance. The covers of two books were unveiled at this time. A Shamsur Rahman’s Favorite Poem and Abdul Ghaffar Chowdhury’s Time Clock.

The three-day NRB-PBO literature and culture conference will continue till February 24. This conference will be held on 23rd in two parts. The first session is from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. The second session is from 3:30 PM to 8 PM. The concluding session will be held on 24th from 3.30 pm to 8.00 pm.
