The Dengue Situation Room of the Regional Health Management (Geresa) reported a notable decrease in the number of patients admitted for dengue in the La Libertad region during the last 24 hours.

In addition to the confirmed cases, 13,183 probable cases of the disease have been identified, reflecting the extent and severity of the outbreak. Regarding the mortality situation, the number of deaths remains at 24, with a fatality rate of 0.07%.

The technical teams of the Regional Health Management, together with the Health Networks of the provinces of Trujillo, Virú and Ascope, have met to strengthen the strategies implemented in the battle against Aedes aegypti, the mosquito responsible for the transmission of dengue. .

Among the various strategies implemented to deal with the dengue outbreak, the deployment of awareness-raising activities aimed at the population residing in the most remote areas. This approach includes the distribution of information leaflets detailing the symptoms of dengue and providing guidance on key preventative measures, such as eliminating disused mosquito breeding sites.

These awareness campaigns are not only limited to rural areas, but also extend to educational spaces such as schools and universities, as well as other public places where the community is concentrated. In addition to these educational initiatives, specific vector control actions are carried out, such as fumigation, with the aim of reducing the population of transmitting mosquitoes and preventing the spread of the dengue virus.
