“After two years of championing accuracy, Mr. Mitsotakis promised to target the prices of 1,500 codes. Nobody believes him. The basket of the household is not filled with expectations”, emphasized Nikos Pappas during his intervention in the Plenary Session of the Parliament, commenting on the statements of Kyriakos Mitsotakis to the cabinet.
At the same time, the parliamentary representative and finance department head of K.O. of SYRIZA – Progressive Alliance emphasized that “for the Mitsotakis government there are no excess profits of refineries for 2023. Mr. Theoharis revealed this yesterday, answering a question from Sokratis Famellos”.
“We have nothing to expect. Everyone knows that energy prices are the root of accuracy, which follows the entire supply chain to the shelf,” added N. Pappas.
In conclusion, the SYRIZA-PS MP pointed out that “there is no way the Mitsotakis government will proceed with radical measures, such as the ceiling on the profits of both importers and wholesalers. They are policies outside the economic policy box that you have chosen to follow, as is the reduction of indirect taxes. The people cannot expect a fight against accuracy, from the architect of accuracy, Mr. Mitsotakis.”
It is recalled that the Prime Minister at the start of the Cabinet on Thursday morning appeared with wishes for a reduction in prices for food and basic products, choosing to use the word “we expect” a price reduction in 1,500 products, gradually from the beginning of March.
