The prosecutor recommended that he remain in prison as unrepentant for his crimes – The Lamia Criminal Board rejected the proposal
The Council of Delinquents of Lamia with its will opened the prison door for Nikos Michaloliakos, its leader Golden Dawn criminal organization.
The terms of his release are exit ban from the regional unit Attica, appearing at the police station once a month and not associating with co-accused in the Golden Dawn criminal organization.
This development comes as Nikos Michaloliakos has completed 3/5 of the 13 year sentence which was imposed on him by the Three-member Court of Criminal Appeals of Athens for directing the Golden Dawn criminal organization.
It should be noted that the prosecutor recommended to the judicial council the stay in prison of Nikos Michaloliakos quoting and assessing the lack of remorse and moral improvement of the applicant, quoting an extensive article through which he appears unrepentant and declares that he is imprisoned in the context of political persecution and slander.
His proposal however was not accepted by the judicial council which states that any doubts that may arise in the person of the applicant about the essential conditions, should work in his favor. It should be noted that the legislation allows for an appeal against the decision.
