Camara down against supreme Wembanyama

The Portland Trail Blazers suffered a home defeat against the San Antonio Spurs, last in the Western Conference: 105-118. Toumani Camara played 21 minutes, contributing one point and seven rebounds.

At the Spurs, Victor Wembanyama, the 19-year-old top talent who measures 224 centimetres, was the big man. He scored 30 points, but also provided six rebounds, six assists and seven blocks. He made history, being only the second rookie in the long history of the NBA to score at least thirty points, at least five rebounds, at least five assists and at least seven blocks. Who did it first? David Robinson in 1990. Or rather, 33 years ago.

I WAIT. The Wembanyama class

Anfernee Simons (29 points) and Duop Reath (25 points) were the scoring guns for Portland, for the Kings the duo De’Aaron Fox (43 points) and Domantas Sabonis (34 points) accounted for almost two-thirds of the points .

Camara and Portland lose to the Golden State Warriors

Toumani Camara, who once again scored a great dunk, could not prevent his team’s defeat against basketball legend Stephen Curry’s Golden State Warriors. The Trail Blazers lost 126-106. Camara was given the difficult task of defending Curry. Our compatriot was able to play for 25 minutes and scored 6 points. He also grabbed two rebounds. It’s already the third time this season that Portland has lost to Golden State.

Camara loses the thriller

Portland Trail Blazers-Washington Wizards was exciting until the last second, but in the end Toumani Camara’s team bit the dust: 117-118. Our compatriot played 17 minutes. He scored four points—with a dunk and a layup—and provided three rebounds.

Portland fell behind for a long time, but made a real comeback in the fourth quarter. Especially under the guidance of a very strong Simons, who scored 41 points. But the Blazers fell a point behind after a tumultuous finish with a long challenge. They therefore remain at the bottom of the ranking.

Camara has not met with Portland’s Phoenix Suns

109-104 in their own Moda Center against the Phoenix Suns. The Portland Trail Blazers have finally won again in the NBA after seven consecutive losses. However, Toumani Camara’s team were 12 points behind at halftime, the maximum deficit in the first half was even 22 points. Our compatriot – good at scoring 5 points and 9 rebounds in 22 minutes – announced the comeback at the beginning of the third quarter with a nice triple. Jerami Grant (22 points) and Anfernee Simons (23 points) did the rest. Despite their seventh win of the season in the Western Conference, Portland remains in shared second-to-last place. Only the San Antonio Spurs are doing worse with just four wins in 26 games.

New defeat for Camara, who scored 18 points

The Portland Trail Blazers suffered their fifth straight loss last night. Utah Jazz was too strong for Toumani Camara and his teammates: 114-122.

Our compatriot managed to leave his mark in Portland too. In the 24 minutes on the court our compatriot did well to score 6 rebounds and 18 points. The highest total so far for Camara, who got some hits from behind the three-point line. The Trail Blazers then dubbed him ‘Threemani’ Camara on social media.

After the defeat, Portland remains in second-to-last place in the Western Conference.

Warriors player Draymond Green has been suspended “indefinitely” following the strike

The NBA has suspended Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green “indefinitely.” The American punched Phoenix player Jusuf Nurkic in the face on Tuesday. Green had just completed a five-game suspension.

This content contains cookies from social media or other external platforms. Because you have disabled these cookies, this content remains hidden. Accept cookies from social media to still view content.

The 33-year-old Green, a four-time NBA champion with the Warriors and a two-time Olympic champion with Team USA, is not an unheralded figure. The American too often deals with violations and exclusions, sometimes for dangerous behavior. Tuesday’s battle was the straw that broke the camel’s back for the NBA, according to a release.

The indefinite suspension takes into account Green’s repeated unsportsmanlike behavior. The player, who has since apologized and said that it was not his intention to strike (see video below), will have to fulfill certain conditions before being able to participate in official matches again.

The Lakers win their first NBA Cup

The Los Angeles Lakers won the first NBA Cup, the new in-season tournament of the North American professional basketball championship NBA. Led by LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the Lakers were too strong for the Indiana Pacers in the final (123-109).

Davis scored 41 points and 20 rebounds. James recorded 24 points and 11 rebounds. LeBron James, now playing his 21st season in the NBA, is also the first MVP of the NBA’s new in-season tournament.

For the Pacers, junior Tyrese Haliburton scored 20 points. He also had 11 assists.

The final at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas saw many fouls and fumbles from both teams. The Lakers were particularly strong defensively against the best offensive team in the league.

Camara impressed with 14 points and 9 rebounds

Toumani Camara (23) impressed again last night in the NBA. The Brussels native played 32 minutes against the Dallas Mavericks. He did well to score 14 points and 9 rebounds. It wasn’t enough to help the Portland Trail Blazers win.

Portland trailed the entire game and lost at home 112-125. Another opportunity will come on Monday, when the Blazers play the LA Clippers.

13 rebounds for Camara

Another narrow defeat for Toumani Camara (23) and the Portland Trail Blazers. Against the stars of the Golden State Warriors – just think of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green – the Brussels native was on the floor for 27 minutes. Furthermore, thirteen rebounds – a personal best and no one on the court did better – and six points. Thirteen rebounds equal the career record of Didier Mbenga, the first Belgian in the NBA. Mbenga reached that number in June 2009 against Memphis.

Once again Camara demonstrated that he has the qualities of a good NBA defender. Portland lost in the fourth quarter: 110-106.

No 10th consecutive win and club record for Orlando

A streak of nine consecutive victories was interrupted for Orlando. The Magic hoped to set a club record with their 10th consecutive win, but lost 129-101 to the Brooklyn Nets. Mikal Bridges (see video below) was the best on the court with 42 points.

Minnesota solidified its lead in the Western Conference with a 117-123 win in Charlotte. Karl-Anthony Towns (28 points) and Rudy Gobert (26 points, 12 rebounds) led the Timberwolves to their fifteenth win in nineteen games.

Also in the West, the LA Lakers beat the Houston Rockets at home 107-97. Anthony Davis scored 27 points and 14 rebounds. LeBron James further extended his NBA scoring record with 16 points.

The LA Clippers completed a successful comeback run against Golden State. They corrected a 22-point deficit and still won 113-112 thanks to Paul George’s late 3-pointer. He was the protagonist of the evening with 25 points, six rebounds and six assists. Stephen Curry scored 22 points and 11 assists for the Warriors in his 900th NBA game.

New victory for Toumani Camara with Portland

The Portland Trail Blazers recorded their third win in four games. Toumani Camara and his teammates won 95-103 on the court against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Our tall player played 24 minutes and was useful to his team on several occasions, both in the defensive and offensive phases. Camara received praise, among other things, for his beautiful goal-line play, after which he scored a brace (see video below). It was an important moment, because Portland was still behind 58-70 at the time.

Camara had nine points, two rebounds and one assist. Shaedon Sharpe was the leading scorer for the Trail Blazers with 29 points. The next game is scheduled for Sunday evening, against the Utah Jazz.

Camara’s beautiful action:

Added two records for LeBron James: biggest career loss and most minutes played in the NBA

The Philadelphia 76ers handed LeBron James the biggest defeat of his NBA career. Joel Embiid scored 30 points in Philadelphia to help the Sixers win 138-94 over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Embiid achieved a triple double, meaning points, rebounds and assists in double figures. In addition to the 30 points, he added 11 rebounds and 11 assists. It was even more painful that Embiid, voted most valuable player last season, didn’t even participate in the final quarter.

“What needs to change so this doesn’t happen again? A lot,” James said after the painful defeat. The 38-year-old basketball great, who debuted in the NBA two decades ago, failed to rebound and had to settle for 18 points.

There was some good news for LeBron James, who set a new record. This is the record for the most minutes played in the NBA. James surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who had played 66,297 minutes in his career.

The 38-year-old James, who is in his 20th season with the Los Angeles Lakers, raised his first-quarter minutes to 66,298 against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Last season, James already surpassed Abdul-Jabbar in terms of the number of points scored. The basketball great surpassed the 39,000 mark, while Abdul-Jabbar reached 38,387 points.

The Philadelphia 76ers are fourth in the Eastern Conference. Twelve of the seventeen matches were won. The Lakers occupy eighth place in the Western standings, with ten wins and eight losses.

Portland wins fifth time, Camara gets 17 minutes

After losing to the Milwaukee Bucks last weekend, the Portland Trail Blazers returned to winning ways in the NBA. Toumani Camara’s team defeated the Indiana Pacers 110-114.

Jerami Grant was the big man with 34 points, Malcolm Brogdon (24 points) and Deandre Ayton (22 points) also played prominent roles. Our compatriot Toumani Camara scored 17 minutes and did well to score 5 points and 2 rebounds. His triple at the end of the first half was particularly impressive.

Portland remains in third-to-last place in the Western Conference.

Luka Doncic or Giannis Antetokounmpo will miss the Paris Games

Luka Doncic’s Slovenia (Dallas Mavericks) and Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Greece (Milwaukee Bucks) were drawn in the same qualifying tournament for the Paris Games. The Olympic basketball tournament will therefore have to settle for neither of the two NBA stars.

Twenty-four countries were divided into four qualifying tournaments. They first compete against each other in groups of three, with the top two playing crossover finals. Only the winner of the tournament will qualify for the Paris Games. Greece is hosting a tournament and in Piraeus, in addition to Slovenia, it will also have to contend with the Dominican Republic, Egypt, Croatia and New Zealand.

Portland and Camara lose to Milwaukee

A painful defeat for Toumani Camara and the Portland Trail Blazers. They lost to the Milwaukee Bucks (108-102) on Sunday night. Portland blew a twenty-six point lead in the process – it was Milwaukee’s biggest comeback of the season. Camara started the game well against the Bucks. But then he remained on the bench due to errors. In the end our compatriot played seventeen minutes and did well to score six points and three rebounds. (FDZ)
