Capricious, self-centered, moody, with bad behavior. These are some of the adjectives that are often used to describe only children. However, we cannot extend them to all only children since the behaviors will not depend exclusively on whether a person has siblings or not.
Only child syndrome does not exist as a psychological condition. It is a term used to refer to people with stereotypical behaviors that, it is claimed, belong to that of an only child. According to this, the characteristics of the only child are:

It cannot be said that not having siblings produces psychological conflicts in and of itself. The formation of a personality will fundamentally depend on the place that the child occupies for the parents. Being an only child can produce some unwanted behaviors at the age of majority if the person becomes trapped in an image of narcissistic perfection. Being unique can mean looking in only one mirror, that of your parents, who give you an idealized image of yourself.
A child who grows up believing that he is the only one, the best, the one who has everything and can do everything, will maintain that idea during his adolescence, a time when his personality is finally defined. This is the importance of parents fostering ties with other people and confronting their children with different challenges.
