LEÓN, Gto. (apro).- Governor Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo assured that both the paramedics murdered in Celaya and the ambulances that were set on fire on Monday afternoon have links to organized crime.
“It must be said: these ambulances were related to a criminal group… even those who are deceased there is some data that was related to criminal groups,” he revealed, and then pointed out that we will have to wait for the State Attorney General’s Office to finish the investigation. .
The governor of Guanajuato commented that organized crime groups finance private health clinics to care for their wounded, which is why they also provide ambulance services.
“Remember that they had clinics where they treated their wounded and those types of situations.”
He announced that they will implement operations with the Ministry of Health to review the Celaya clinics; He even commented that in previous years some health centers that were at the service of organized crime were closed.
One of the closed centers was the San Fermín clinic, in Celaya. The closure by state authorities in 2021 was due to non-compliance with health regulations. The same establishment appeared in “Guacamaya Leaks” as a clinic linked to the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel.
In an interview, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez spoke about the attacks against municipal police, after the murder of three elements in Irapuato, Salamanca and León, between Monday night and Tuesday morning.
According to the governor, the solution to insecurity begins with well-paid and equipped municipal police so that they can deal with common crimes, while state and federal authorities focus on high-impact crimes.
“Militarization on the street is not the best option, people do not feel comfortable passing soldiers next to you with heavy caliber weapons. We need proximity police.”
According to Rodríguez Vallejo, there are few municipalities in Guanajuato that have committed to allocating the necessary resources to strengthen their police forces: Pénjamo, Irapuato, San Francisco del Rincón, San Miguel de Allende and Celaya, although it is in this last municipality where murders of police concentrated.
“You will never have a strong municipal police if you do not invest in it, and the municipalities have to really invest in it, if they have to increase property taxes, let them increase it, but let them allocate it to security, what people are asking for today It is security.”
