The largest Turkish manufacturer of sports shoes entered into a partnership with Moroccan professionals to produce shoes bearing the “Made in Morocco” label, in a proactive step towards the 2030 World Cup finals scheduled to be organized in the Kingdom, Spain and Portugal.

It was officially announced that the Turkish global manufacturer, called “Flo,” had signed a contract with its Moroccan counterparts, on Tuesday, in order to contribute to the manufacture of sports shoes that are produced in Morocco and exported abroad.

Actors in the sector announced the launch of the Moroccan branch of the Turkish brand “Flo” to specialize in the manufacture of sports shoes, and to produce 2,000 pairs per day in the first phase.

Boubacar Jettou, co-director of the group, confirmed that “Made in Morocco” will become a competitor in the international market in the field of sports shoes in the future, especially in light of the Kingdom’s preparations to host the 2030 World Cup.

On the sidelines of a meeting with the CEO of the Turkish company, Jettou stressed that the upcoming World Cup finals will see the group betting on making “Made in Morocco” a brand that is popular with those interested in sports affairs in general and football in particular.

The same spokesman recorded that Turkish and Moroccan investors are seeking to increase the number of sales shops, noting that this will contribute to increasing Moroccan exports to Turkey, Europe and the Middle East and strengthen the position of “Made in Morocco” in the international market.

Moroccan and Turkish investors are also betting on increasing the labor force in the sector and creating job opportunities, not to mention transforming Morocco from an importing country of sports shoes into an exporter of them.

For his part, Turkish Yanal Gokeldirim, CEO of the aforementioned group, expressed his pride in investing in Morocco and selling sports shoes through the stores they have in the cities of the Kingdom.

The Turkish investor indicated that he is paying attention to investing in Morocco, and will continue to do so with the aim of reaching 50 stores by the 2030 World Cup.
