More than 31 thousand prisoners will vote for the presidential election

Over 31 thousand prisoners will vote for the first time in history in the presidential elections. From Durango there would be 740 and from Coahuila 212.

The National Electoral Institute (INE) will install vote receiving tables from May 6 to 20 within 262 federal and state prisons in which those in preventive detention will participate.

There are 31,125 inmates who complied with the requirements established by the electoral authority to participate in the elections, of which 3,075 are from federal prisons and 28,046 from state prisons. In the case of Coahuila, the report mentions that there are 195 federal prisons and 17 state prisons, while in Durango there would be 7 and 733, respectively.
