A ban has been issued to enter Brahmanbaria Government College with mobile phones and motorcycles.

The ban was issued in a notice signed by the principal of the college, Professor Abu Zafar Mohammad Arif Hossain, on Thursday (May 2).

The notice mentions that, in the interest of the overall welfare and discipline of the college students of higher secondary, graduation (pass), post graduation (honors) and post graduation classes, it is being informed that motorbikes cannot be entered in the college campus and android mobile phones in the classrooms in any way. Entry of motorbikes and use of android mobile phones are strictly prohibited in the college campus. For that reason, disciplinary action will be taken against any student who enters the college campus with a motorbike and if anyone is found with a mobile phone in the classroom.

It has been found that the use of mobile phones by students in the classroom has increased to a greater extent. It disrupts the class. The authorities have given verbal instructions on this issue several times. They even seized mobile phones during raids. But it was not working either. Besides, many people enter the college on motorcycles and spoil the environment, so there was a verbal ban from the concerned authorities.

Principal Professor Abu Zafar Mohammad Arif Hossain said, ‘This initiative has been taken to protect students from the negative effects of mobile phones. Besides, he mentioned that because the college campus is very small, the movement of motorcycles disrupts the teaching in the classroom.
