Speaker Sahiba Gafarova said that the visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasim-Jomart Tokayev to Azerbaijan, the meetings and negotiations with President Ilham Aliyev were followed with great attention in our country and emphasized that this visit is another manifestation of friendship and brotherhood between our peoples and will contribute to the further strengthening and expansion of relations between our countries. .
It was noted at the meeting that the Azerbaijani and Kazakh peoples are connected by common cultural and spiritual ties. After our countries gained independence, our relations, which are expanding every day and have already reached the level of strategic partnership and alliance, are built on this solid foundation.
The Chairman of the Milli Majlis, who gave information about the relations between our parliaments, emphasized that one of the factors that have an important and positive impact on the bilateral and multilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan is the mutual activity of our parliaments.
Speaker Sahiba Gafarova said that a number of negative processes are being observed in the world at the meeting, where the importance of mutual activity in international organizations was also emphasized, and noted that trends such as double standards and Islamophobia are cause for concern. In such a situation, our bilateral cooperative relations are of greater importance.
The speaker spoke about the importance of cooperation within the framework of TURKPA. The chairman of the Milli Majlis reminded that President Ilham Aliyev defined cooperation within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States as a priority in his speech at the swearing-in ceremony in the parliament. The head of state of Azerbaijan especially noted that our family is the Turkic world and we should work together so that the Organization of Turkic States becomes an important actor and power center in the global arena. Sahiba Gafarova stressed that the parliamentarians should continue joint efforts to further strengthen TURKPA. Activities within the framework of TURKPA bring our peoples closer together and create great opportunities for further deepening and strengthening of relations between our countries.
Expressing his satisfaction with his visit to Azerbaijan and being in the Milli Mejlis, the President of Kazakhstan recalled that he was in the Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan 3 times as the chairman of the Senate. President Kasim-Jomart Tokayev noted that this is an example of his respect for the Parliament and the people of Azerbaijan.

Emphasizing the growing role of Azerbaijan in the region, President Tokayev pointed out that his country is interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan in all fields. He recalled that the main topics of his talks with President Ilham Aliyev were issues of cooperation in oil and gas, logistics, digital technologies, industry and other fields.
During the conversation, President Tokayev informed about the successes and prospective plans of Kazakhstan in economy, industry, digitization, agriculture and other fields. Speaking with satisfaction about the cooperation of our countries in the framework of transport and logistics, the Middle Corridor and other projects, the head of state of Kazakhstan noted the importance of the development of relations in the humanitarian field. In this regard, President Tokayev expressed his confidence that the days of Kazakh culture held in Azerbaijan brought our peoples closer together. He expressed his gratitude to the government of Azerbaijan for the support given to the holding of Kazakh culture days in Baku and said that the issue of holding Azerbaijani culture days in Kazakhstan is also on the agenda.
Appreciating the role of parliamentary diplomacy in the development of interstate relations, the head of state of Kazakhstan spoke about the importance of constructive cooperation within the framework of international organizations, including the Organization of Turkic States. According to him, inter-parliamentary relations constitute an important direction of relations between our countries.
