After the swearing ceremony of the newly elected committee of Bangladesh Film Artists Association, the country has witnessed an unexpected incident. A few journalists were beaten up, the attacks led by well-known film actors like Shiva Shanu and Joy Chowdhury.
On Tuesday (April 23) evening, there is a buzz in the movie theater about this incident. In the meantime, the new president of Shilpi Samiti Misha Saudagar and general secretary Manowar Hossain Dipjal expressed their regret about the matter. They have assured that they will quickly complete the investigation of the incident and take action.
In the written statement, Misha-Dipzol said, ‘Today, Tuesday (April 23) at five o’clock in the afternoon, a ceremony was organized to mark the victory of the newly elected committee of the Bangladesh Film Artists Association in the garden of BFDC. At our invitation, journalists from various media came to receive the news. Then some selected members of the executive committee and ordinary members of the artists’ association clashed with the journalists. We have come to know that several journalists have been injured in this incident, which saddens us. We express our sincere condolences to all media journalists for this incident. Besides, I am going to take necessary measures in view of this incident as soon as possible.’
A committee of 11 members has been formed to investigate the incident, said Misha-Dipzol. Where five people have been kept by the film artists association and journalists. And the advisor is producer Arshad Adnan.
