JAKARTA – Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno is collaborating with Real Estate Indonesia (REI) to advance the super priority tourist destination Labuan Bajo by investing in West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

Labuan Bajo has previously been declared by the central government as a super priority tourist destination and is an important point for continuing sustainable tourism as desired by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.

This was conveyed by Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga when taking part in tree planting activities in the Parapuar area and providing clean water assistance and restoration of the Uswatun Hasanah Mosque in Golo Mori Village, Komodo District, West Manggarai Regency in the context of REI’s 52nd anniversary. On that occasion, Sandiaga was also accompanied by the General Chair of REI, Joko Suranto.

It is hoped that this investment will attract other entrepreneurs to invest. Later, infrastructure will be built in Labuan Bajo for the advancement of NTT tourism.

This first visit to Golo Mori Village seemed to be a blessing in itself for the village residents. The Head of Golo Mori Village, Samaila, expressed his gratitude to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy and REI for helping with the deficiencies in his village, so that residents can enjoy clean water and worship in peace.

Samaila said, there are many tourist spots in Golo Mori Village so it is hoped that the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy’s programs will continue in Labuan Bajo.

“This will establish Labuan Bajo as a super priority destination to bring economic opportunities and prosperity to the people of Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai and also NTT,” said Sandi.

According to data from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, currently there are several investors who have invested in the Parapuar area, such as Eiger and Dusit International.

The Parapuar Labuan Bajo area is very interesting because it is at a height with an attractive view of Labuan Bajo. Currently, investment in the Parapuar area has reached USD 110.5 million or more than IDR 1.7 trillion.
