Speaking to Independent Urdu, Mukhtiar Shaheen said that it was in 2003 when my father was drinking tea at a hotel that a few people came to him.

He placed the newspaper in front of my father and said, “Look, your daughter’s picture has been published in the newspaper, but it is not our culture that the pictures of our sisters and daughters are published in the newspaper and people go around looking at them.”

On this, my father said that women also have rights, if a woman works in the circle, there is no restriction.

The women of our area are also in politics and their pictures are published in newspapers. I have full faith in my daughter and in a conservative area like Mianwali, she is happy to work for women.’

Since 2003, Mukhtiar Shaheen has set up an organization called ‘Norwomen Welfare Organization’ which helps women by teaching sewing, embroidery, computer courses, handicrafts and other skills.

In 2013, Mukhtiar Shaheen started the work of making ID cards and B-forms for children to give women a share in inheritance under his help, he faced many difficulties.

She says that people used to say that ‘we will not allow our women to go to the NADRA office and sit in front of a man and have their picture taken, nor will we make their identity cards.’

After several meetings and guidance with the concerned men and women, the demand of these men was to send the NADRA van here, upon which Mukhtiar Shaheen requested the NADRA officials to send the mobile van to the area, which was accepted. .
