The head of the Chamber of Deputies, Martin Menemsupported the president Javier Miley in his fight against the artist Lali Esposito by maintaining that a government should not use the money collected to “choose the preferences of the inhabitants.”
“It is political propaganda,” the legislator defined it in Mirtha Legrand’s program, and proposed that national, provincial and municipal authorities should avoid allocating public funds to finance cultural artists.

Menem’s statements refer to the harsh exchange that the president carried out with the pop singer whom he nicknamed “Lalipósito” due to the performances at state festivals in which she participated.
“At this moment, nor at any time, can we, the rulers, use taxpayer money to choose the preference of the inhabitants,” Martín Menem insisted.
According to the legislator’s logic, “if we pay a salary every week from the same political sector, they automatically align because it becomes a source of work.”
“In your house you don’t spend more, now they come to power and spend much more than they can. And who are the victims? 45 million people,” he noted about the management of the governors’ funds.

In another passage of the interview, Martín Menem revealed that he travels with Aerolíneas Argentinas and highlighted the work of his employees. “I always travel on Airlines, I travel perfectly, the flights arrive on time, the planes are modern,” he revealed.
Likewise, the head of the Lower House stated that “I wish no State company would show a deficit,” and concluded: “History shows us that over time these things have generated many problems; “The political class has used enormous and very nice public companies that at some point worked very well as political funds.”
