INEOS has decided on coach Erik ten Hag’s future at Man United, amid rumors that the Dutch coach could be fired this summer, while captain Bruno Fernandes left open the possibility of leaving Old Trafford.
According to the latest sources from The Athletic, the co-owners of Man United is ready to keep Ten Hag for another season. Since Sir Jim Ratcliffe brought INEOS to own shares in the club, there have been many drastic changes in Old Trafford’s leadership.
Why does Man United want Mr. Ten Hag to continue to stay?
INEOS is also quite ruthless with its tough moves in the executive board. They didn’t hesitate to announce that CEO Patrick Steward and CFO Cliff Baty would be leaving this summer. These are just the most recent departures, and there are more to come.
Director of football John Murtough has parted ways with former CEO Richard Arnold, who left before INEOS even joined Manchester United. Boss Ratcliffe and INEOS are bringing in their own personnel, including Jean Claude Blanc, Omar Berrada, Roger Bell, Jason Wilcox and Dan Ashworth. It is these radical changes that have sparked rumors that the Red Devils will also let coach Ten Hag leave after an unsuccessful second season at Man United.
However, Man United co-owners will consider Ten Hag’s future more carefully. According to The Athletic, the main reason is that the owners do not believe that the Dutch military leader has full support from the club’s leadership. Therefore, they were willing to give him another chance under their direction.
Furthermore, INEOS is also concerned about possible costs of about 10 million pounds to fire the coach and recruit a replacement. They are also concerned about the limited number of candidates for the hot seat. Therefore, Man United will continue to retain Ten Hag.

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has hinted that he could leave Old Trafford this summer. The Portuguese player has been one of the club’s best stars, since he arrived from Sporting CP in January 2021.

Bruno has always led the scoring and assist charts for Man United every season. He could be a victim of their rumored move to sell top stars, approved by new co-owners INEOS.
The Man United captain also confused the situation further by telling DAZN Portugal: “I’m not thinking about other things at the moment. Obviously, it doesn’t just depend on me, right? A player You always have to want to stay here, but at the same time, the club also has to want the player to stay. Right now, I feel that from both sides.
