Knowing the situation of baby Kim Dieu, the newborn baby was abandoned by his parents from birth, underwent 3 surgeries and had to use a prosthesis. Mr. Duy embraces the idea of ​​taking on the challenge of swimming 100km in 48 hours to call on benefactors to join hands to help baby Kim Dieu get treatment, so that Dieu can live and develop like a normal child.

“Kim Dieu is a newborn baby girl with strong vitality. She suffered from intestinal necrosis from birth and had to use a prosthesis and underwent 3 surgeries. Her hospital bills amounted to more than 200 million VND. Therefore, , I want to spend some energy from my passion and work to call for support from everyone, to continue writing the life of baby Dieu,” Mr. Duy said.

The 100km swimming challenge in 2 days has officially begun. The location for the challenge is right at the swimming pool of Thien Than Children’s Protection Facility. On the day the challenge started, Mr. Luong Ngoc Duy’s friends and colleagues also came to cheer and swim in response.

“I have swum many long-distance races, but this is the first time I have swum 100km in just 2 days. To conquer the challenge, I have carefully prepared both physically and mentally.” , Mr. Duy said.

Luong Ngoc Duy is a familiar name in the water sports industry. He used to be an athlete of the national team in swimming and water polo, participating in many international tournaments with outstanding achievements. such as: 8-time national champion in water polo, silver medal of the Oceamen 10km tournament in Langkawi Malaysia 2018, silver medal of the Oceamen 10km tournament in Krabi Thailand 2018…

After retiring from his career as an athlete, Mr. Duy is still attached to swimming as a coach and regularly participates in many long-distance swimming and ocean swimming tournaments to satisfy his passion.

Mr. Duy had his first meal after more than 12 hours of soaking in the water. Foods such as vegetables and tubers are his priority. As one of Duy’s close friends, Mr. Nguyen Van Thuy (47 years old, wearing a white scarf) traveled from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City to accompany him in the challenge of swimming 100km in 48 hours.
