The new Porsche Panamera underlines the sporty character of the luxury sedan with renewed, more powerful driving systems and innovative technologies that include the new suspension system Porsche Active Ride to combine a higher level of comfort with the sporty handling that has distinguished the Stuttgart automaker. The design of the new Panamera renews the attractive proportions of the model, while the wide range of driver assistance systems and a redesigned interior enhance the entire driving experience.

The third generation Panamera is equipped as standard with the dual-chamber, two-valve air suspension as well as Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM). The two-valve technology separates the rebound and compression stages of damping control, therefore offering a greater range between comfort and sportiness: the system significantly reduces impacts on transverse joints and road imperfections, while at the same time ensures greater stability in dynamic driving situations. Additionally, driving can be improved thanks to the four-wheel steering option.

The innovative active suspension system Porsche Active Ride Available for the E-Hybrid models of the new Panamera, it outperforms other suspension concepts in all relevant parameters and offers an unprecedented range of comfort and driving dynamics. The basis for this is the newly developed active shock absorbers, also with two-valve technology, each connected to an electrically driven hydraulic pump.

This generates a volume of flow in the shock absorber according to needs, which is why it can produce forces between the body and the wheels in an ultra-fast, precise and specific way that counteract and almost completely compensate for the impacts produced by the excitement of the road. This feature is complemented by a single-chamber air suspension system that saves weight.

With a smooth ride, the chassis keeps the Panamera’s body parallel to the road at all times, even during dynamic braking, steering and acceleration maneuvers. While, in dynamic driving situations, the Porsche Active Ride suspension system guarantees its perfect connection with the handling thanks to a balanced load distribution between the wheels.

If the corresponding mode is activated, the suspension can overcompensate for pitch and roll tendencies to reduce acceleration forces acting on passengers. In this situation the new Panamera leans when cornering like a motorcycle would, pulling the front part down when accelerating and the rear part when braking. When parked, the Porsche Active Ride suspension system raises the body to a height that allows for comfortable entry or exit.

Porsche offers a total of four efficient E-Hybrid propulsion systems for the new Panamera, in response to the high demand for such technology. All variants have greater performance, autonomy and efficiency. Modifications to increase pressure, fuel injection flow and ignition timing optimize the performance of the new Panamera, powered by the 2.9-liter V6 turbo engine. It now produces 353 HP (260 kW) and 500 Nm of torque, an increase of 23 HP (17 kW) and 50 Nm compared to its predecessor. This takes the Panamera’s acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds and increases its top speed to 272 km/h.

The Panamera 4 E-Hybrid version will be associated with a 190 HP electric motor, to deliver a combined power of 470 HP and combined torque of 650 Nm, to achieve acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and a maximum speed of 280 km/h. While the Panamera 4S E-Hybrid has a combined power of 544 HP and combined torque of 750 Nm, to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 290 km/h.

The model variants under the Turbo name enjoy a special position at Porsche as a standard of high performance and the Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid arrives to reinforce this concept. The exterior is characterized by a distinctive rear apron with painted diffuser panels and a body-colored front fascia. Optional dark bronze chrome tailpipes and center-lock wheels can also be chosen, which can be specified for other models.

The Turbonite color, exclusive to the Turbo models, is used as a contrast on the side window stripes and the Turbo logo on the rear door, as well as on the Porsche crest on the hood, wheels and steering wheel. Inside, this distinctive tone is combined with carbon elements to create a sporty environment. It can be found on the central clocks of the instrument panel or as the color of the controls on the center console. The heart of its propulsion is a fundamentally improved four-liter turbo V8 engine in combination with a new 190 HP (140 kW) electric motor whose combined capacity generates a power output of 680 HP (500 kW) and reaches an impressive 930 Nm of torque. torque.

Porsche adds the electric motor in the space of the eight-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission, also completely redesigned, which saves about five kilograms by eliminating a separate place for the electric motor. Likewise, its integration within the transmission oil circuit optimizes the thermal balance of the electric drive unit, which provides greater continuity in the delivery of the electric motor.

The Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 315 km/h. The capacity of its battery is 25.9 kWh, which allows an electric range of up to 91 kilometers in the WLTP combined cycle or 83 to 93 km in the urban cycle. Additionally, the new onboard 9.6 kW AC charger reduces charging time at convenient points to 2 hours and 39 minutes.

Sportiness and luxury on the outside

The new Panamera retains the outstanding design line that has distinguished it. It measures 5,052 mm long, 1,937 mm wide and 1,423 mm high. However, its radically renewed appearance gives it a more expressive and sporty appearance. At the front, an additional air intake above the plate compensates for the increased air demand in its propulsion systems. The new version of the side windows reinforces the sedan appearance of this four-door sports car, while the outer edges of the rear window are aligned with the contour of the body, creating harmonious figures at the rear of the vehicle.

Technological interior designed for the comfort and safety of the occupants.

The Porsche Driver Experience concept for the driver’s seat presents the ideal balance between digital and analogue equipment and places the essential driving elements within the driver’s reach. The shift lever is directly to the right of the steering wheel and the driver also has easy access to the selector to choose its available driving modes (Normal, Sport and Sport Plus), as well as the assist control paddles. This means that you do not need to take your eyes off the road to adjust driving programs and their assistance systems.

An optional integrated display allows the passenger to become part of the driving experience. This 10.9-inch screen displays, on demand, vehicle performance data, enables operation of the infotainment system, and supports video streaming while the car is in motion. To avoid distractions, the passenger screen cannot be seen from the driver’s seat, making it the most complete and safest sedan in the segment.

The Porsche Panamera 2024 is now in Mexico with a price starting at $2,158,000 pesos. During the next few weeks, the Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid version will arrive from $3,958,000 pesos. Meanwhile, the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid (from $2,458,000 pesos) and the Panamera 4S E-hybrid (from $2,768,000 pesos), will be available in the national market starting in August. The model range will be complemented in October with the integration of the Panamera GTS and Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid versions, details of equipment, engine and prices for both variants will be announced at that time.
