Sunday’s Belgian get-together produced little tension. Competition leader Léopold was clearly better than Gantoise, which is eleven points behind in third place in the Belgian top class. Thanks to goals from Tom Boon (1. pc and 13.) and Gaspard Baumgarten (29. and 30.), the people of Brussels were 4-0 ahead at the break. After the break, coach Pascal Kina’s men were able to save their honor with a goal by Timothée Clément (54.). Gantoise ends the EHL in seventh place.

The Euro Hockey League is the most important European hockey tournament for clubs. There is a Belgian team on the honors list, with the Waterloo Ducks in 2019. Over the past three seasons, Dutch Bloemendaal has won the overall title.

Two Dutch teams will play the final on Monday, Pinoké and Kampong. Pinoké has three Belgians in its ranks with Alexander Hendrickx, Florent Van Aubel and Sébastien Dockier and defeated the English Old Georgians (4-1) in his semi-final on Saturday. Kampong defeated Rot Weiss Cologne on Sunday after shoot-outs (3-2). The match ended 5-5 after regular time.
