The writer Jaime Muñoz Vargas and the composer Ricardo Serna García, both from La Laguna, signed an agreement for the transfer of copyright of the IMSS Anthem, in favor of the Mexican Social Security Institute.
On January 12, 2000, the call was made to capture in words and music the history and significance of the Institute in the lives of Mexicans, including 500,000 health workers. Both authors submitted their work under the pseudonym “Ave plena” and obtained the distinction of the jury that analyzed more than 160 works that Mexican writers and composers from all over the country submitted to the Institute.
