Lady presidents have been appointed to two courts in Azerbaijan.
Publika.az reports that this was mentioned in the Decree “On some issues related to the appointment of the chairmen of a number of courts, chairmen of judicial boards and judges of first instance courts” signed by President Ilham Aliyev on April 8.
According to the order, Gunel Akbarli was appointed the judge and chairman of the Hajigabul District Court, and Gulnar Safaraliyeva was appointed the chairman of the Nakhchivan City Court.
It should be noted that G. Akbarli was born in Baku in 1983. In 2011-2017, he worked as a public relations assistant of the Baku City Prosecutor, in 2017-2018 as a teacher-prosecutor of the Department of Organization of Prosecutorial Bodies of the Science and Education Center of the General Prosecutor’s Office, and as a judge of the Yasamal District Court since 2021.
G. Safaraliyeva was born in 1988. From 2010 to 2018, he worked as a consultant-court secretary at the Nakhchivan Supreme Court, and from 2021 as a judge of the Nakhchivan City Court.
