For the launch of the new shirt and the message ‘KRC Genk, that’s forever’, captain Bryan Heynen, upcoming talent Konstantinos Karetsas and three blue and white supporters took to the corridors of Thor Park. “Those three fans symbolize the thousands of Genkies who support the team week after week,” says the vice-champion. “In all weather conditions. In good and bad days. Forever. From the retired man (editor’s note: our former political editor-in-chief Eric Donckier), who has carried blue and white in his heart for 35 years, to the young woman who stands for the family values of KRC Genk, to the young supporters who are ready for another 35 years of dedication to our beloved colors.”

“KRC Genk, that’s forever.” With that striking message, KRC Genk and its supporters enter the Champions’ Play-offs. In the corridors of Thorpark, which is located in the shadow of the Cegeka Arena and beautifully illustrates the link to the mining past, captain Bryan Heynen and upcoming talent ‘Kos’ Karetsas, together with three supporters, showed off the new home kit 2024-2025.

KRC Genk is heading towards the Champions’ Play-offs with confidence. The objective: to obtain a European ticket again. After a season in which our stadium was too small more than once and the support of our supporters could once again be heard throughout Limburg, the message is more than ever: “KRC Genk, that’s forever.”

KRC captain Bryan Heynen and super talent Konstantinos Karetsas, both born and raised in Genk and trained at the Jos Vaessen Talent Academy, show off in the accompanying launch video in the new Home Kit 2024-2025. They are flanked by three supporters. They symbolize the thousands of Genkies who support the team week after week. In all weather conditions. In good and bad days. Forever. From the retired man who has carried blue and white in his heart for 35 years, to the young woman who stands for the family values of KRC Genk, to the young supporters who are ready for another 35 years of dedication to our beloved colors.

“When things go wrong, we dig extra deep here in Genk to ultimately end up where we belong. That is the story of this season and this shirt. For the launch, we went especially to Thor Park from where the mine tunnels run beneath our sacred ground. That location symbolizes our story and our season: even though we come from deep, talent always surfaces. With that mindset, we will confidently enter the Champions’ Play-offs in search of a European ticket,” says General Manager of KRC Genk, Erik Gerits.

As usual, the club and representatives of the Umbrella Supporters Association of KRC Genk (OSV) and Tribune Zuid also went to the drawing board together this year to design the new home kit 2024-2025, in collaboration with clothing partner Nike. Representatives of the various supporter organizations received the scoop at the beginning of this week. With their blessing, the new ‘home kit 2024-2025’ will be available for sale online and in the fan shop from Saturday, from 79 euros for an adult shirt.

On Monday evening, Bryan Heynen and co will open the Champions’ Play-offs at home against Union SG in their new equipment. Representatives of all KRC Genk supporter clubs will present the new shirt live on the field before the start of the match.
