Kidnapping of teacher “Chayo” causes suspension of classes and marches in Zacatecas

ZACATECAS, Zac. (apro).- Teachers and students suspended classes and marched in the municipal seat of Cuauhtémoc, to demand the appearance alive of their partner, José del Rosario Urrutia Aguilar, who was illegally deprived of his freedom early Sunday morning.

The teacher was violently taken from his home early Sunday morning by armed civilians, so his family filed a complaint with the state Attorney General’s Office, which issued a search file with the photo and information of the 46-year-old man.

In solidarity with the teacher and his family, classes were suspended this Monday in basic education schools in the municipality of Cuauhtémoc, located 53 kilometers from the capital; Teachers, students and parents held a march to demand that the authorities find their colleague alive.

Teachers from neighboring municipalities joined the march that concluded with a protest rally in front of the municipal presidency, where they were attended by Mayor Francisco Arcos Ruiz.

During the protest, his colleagues mentioned that the teacher “Chayo”, as he is known, had left the ISSSTE hospital, located in the city of Zacatecas, a few days ago, after spending a month hospitalized, and that he was just returning to his job. in a primary school located in the Paso de Méndez community in the municipality of Genaro Codina.

“We only ask those who have him to return him to us alive and healthy,” said one of the teachers who took the microphone, while sending the criminals this message: “Please, on behalf of the people of San Pedro Piedra Gorda ( Cuauhtémoc), don’t mess with innocent people.”

“They (the kidnappers) entered the house saying where the drugs were; Most likely it was a confusion,” said Mayor Francisco Arcos Ruiz, describing teacher Urrutia Aguilar as an honest, hard-working and innocent person.

The state teachers are called to hold a demonstration this Tuesday in the city of Zacatecas to demand that the state and federal authorities expedite the search to rescue the teacher alive.
