Kidnapping in Ankazobe: 10 individuals under arrest warrant

Ten individuals, suspected of complicity in the kidnapping of three people and the murder of another in Talatan’Angavo, were placed in preventive detention. The tragedy took place in the town of Talatan’Angavo on the night of January 23 to 24. Following a thorough investigation, eleven individuals, including three women, were presented before the prosecution of the Ankazobe Court of First Instance.

A committal warrant was issued against ten of them, currently detained in Ankazobe prison. According to Emmo/Far explanations, these individuals are suspected of having played a complicity role in harboring the alleged bandits. The authorities specify that the search for the main perpetrators of the crime is still ongoing.

Recall that during the night of January 23 to 24, armed individuals attacked two houses in Antanetibe Androva-Atsimo in Talatan’Angavo. The report shows one death by gunshot, three injured and three people kidnapped, according to information provided by the gendarmerie. On January 27, the gendarmerie announced the release of the three women around 6 p.m. in Tsaramandroso Kely Manerinerina, in the rural commune of Ambolotarakely.

Following Operation Harato II, carried out in collaboration with Emmo/Nat and Emmo/Reg, law enforcement reported significant progress beyond the Ankazobe affair. In Ambohibe Ilafy, three bandits, wanted for a long time for kidnapping activities, were neutralized. These results underline the continued commitment of the authorities in the fight against insecurity, demonstrating proactive action to ensure security in different districts and municipalities.
