Kazakhstani wrestlers shine at Asian tournament

At the Asian Championship in freestyle wrestling among boys and girls under 17 years old, which ended in Amman (Jordan), the Kazakh team distinguished itself with outstanding results, taking an honorable third place in the team standings, Liter.kz reports with reference to Olympic.kz.

The competition brought together hundreds of the continent’s best young wrestlers.

“Kazakh athletes demonstrated skill and perseverance, which brought them a total of eight medals. Kasimbek Edyge took the lead in the weight category up to 110 kg, winning a gold medal and becoming the absolute champion in his category. Bekasyl Asambek also showed a high class in the weight up to 60 kg, finishing in second place and winning silver,” reports the press service of the NOC of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In addition, a number of Kazakhstanis received bronze awards, confirming the strength and depth of the Kazakh school of freestyle wrestling. Among them are Bekzat Amangeldy (up to 45 kg), Ibrahim Yskakbek (up to 51 kg), Yeraly Askerbek (up to 55 kg), Bagdaulet Akimzhan (up to 65 kg), Amir Orazbaev (up to 71 kg) and Beybarys Ergali (up to 80 kg) , each of whom earned bronze in their respective weight categories.
