Kashmera Shah on Govinda attending Aarti Singh’s wedding: “He blessed my children”

Mumbai: Veteran star Govinda, forgetting the years-long family feud, attended the wedding of his niece Aarti Singh on Thursday. Both the families broke relations after a tweet by Krishna Abhishek’s wife Kashmira Shah. The tweet reportedly referred to Govinda and his wife Sunita as “people who dance for money”. After the wedding ceremony, Krishna and Kashmera spoke to the paparazzi and expressed happiness about the presence of “chi chi mama” (uncle) Govinda. Talking to Instant Bollywood, Krishna said, “Hey, we all are so happy, you see, even the media, we all are happy. [देखिए, हम सब बहुत खुश हैं, यहां तक कि मीडिया भी, हम सब खुश हैं।]” When asked if she had taken Govinda’s blessings by touching his feet, Kashmira replied, “Obviously. He has always been sweet. And he blessed both my children. [उन्होंने मेरे दोनों बच्चों को भी आशीर्वाद दिया।] I am very happy.”

In another video shared by Instant Bollywood, Govinda can be heard wishing Arti Singh. The actor said, “I pray to God that due to the blessings given on Aarti, there should not be any kind of Vaastu defect. [मैं उसकी भलाई के लिए प्रार्थना करता हूं और भगवान उसे बुरी नजर से बचाए]।”

Earlier, Kashmira Shah had talked about Govinda’s presence in Aarti Singh’s wedding. Speaking to Hindustan Times, he said, “Maybe he is angry at us, but he is not angry at Aarti.” And this is not Krishna’s marriage. If he had not come to our wedding we would have understood what he was.” But she is Aarti and she really wants him there, I would request her to come as Aarti, and our anger should not be on her. Remove it.”

“It is a happy occasion for the family and we will welcome him (Govinda) with open arms. I am his daughter-in-law. I will meet my father-in-law at the wedding and welcome him by touching his feet. Aarti has nothing to do with whatever happened between us. Kashmira Shah said, these things happen in a family, but it does not mean that we do not love each other.

Aarti Singh married businessman Deepak Chauhan on April 25 in Mumbai.
