José Mario Rodríguez Barriga, elected president of the Cesar Assembly

During the installation ceremony of the 2024-2027 constitutional period, the eleven deputies of the Cesar Assembly took office and the new board of directors was elected, which will be chaired by José Mario Rodríguez Barriga, of the Conservative party.

The new president of the Corporation will be accompanied in the first Vice-Presidency by Congressman Raúl Romero (Cambio Radical) and in the second Vice-Presidency by Claudia Margarita Zuleta (Democratic Center), who also declared herself in opposition.

The election of the new board was unanimous and had the support of the eleven deputies of Cesar. In his speech, Rodríguez Barriga thanked God and the people of Cesar for the opportunity to return to the Assembly. He also announced that this will be his last term as a Cesar deputy, stating that he is closing a cycle to give the opportunity to the new generations. .

The Cesar Assembly is also made up of the deputies: Jorge Andrés Pana Ramos (U Party), Jorge Antonio Barros Gnecco (U Party), Carlos Alberto Daza Lobo (Liberal Party), Jesús Javier Suárez Moscote (Liberal Party), Miguel Ángel Gutiérrez (Radical Change), Fawzi Muvdi Anillo (Conservative), Manuel Gutiérrez Pretel (ASI), Ronalt Arturo Castilla Brochel (AV Coalition – MIRA – EM). Meanwhile, the Secretariat was assumed by José Carlos Pérez, with nine votes in favor.

During the session, the elected governor of Cesar, Elvia Milena Sanjuán, also took office, who called for unity to work for the development of the department.
