Julián, the janitor who became a hero for saving several lives during the fire in Valencia, Spain, which left at least ten dead and more than a dozen injured, finally broke the silence and narrated how he experienced the unfortunate event that occurred on the 22nd. of February.
In an interview for the newspaper “El País” he said that it was a very hard experience “it has been a nightmare. Everything happened very quickly and between the fire and the smoke,” the first thing he did was knock on all the doors possible to alert the neighbors. He managed to climb the stairs as fast as he could to the 10th or 12th floor, until the firefighters told him. They asked me not to go any higher because the smoke did not allow it.
“I helped the neighbors go down as far as I could until the smoke left me because there was a moment when it was so black that the firefighters themselves told me not to go up any further,” Julián said.

Julián had been working on that farm for several years, since 2008, it has around 138 homes, he even told how he helped an elderly woman leave the farm.
“The case that shocked me the most was that of door 72 where an elderly woman lived because when I opened the main door it came to me like a flash of flame. My mother! “I grabbed the lady and took her out,” Julián confessed.
