Indonesia U-23 National Team vs Guinea U-23, Witan Sulaeman: It’s Not Easy to Get to This Phase!
Winger for the U-23 Indonesian National Team, Witan Sulaeman, gave a message to the people of Indonesia ahead of facing Guinea U-23. Witan asked the public to continue to provide full support and fight together for the U-23 Indonesian National Team to win tickets to the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The Garuda Muda squad had to settle for finishing fourth in the rankings 2024 U-23 Asian Cup after falling to Iraq in the third place match. However, Shin Tae-yong’s team’s hopes of winning tickets to the Paris Olympics are still open.
U-23 Indonesian National Team will fight for one last ticket by facing Guinea U-23 in the Olympic play-off round. The final match will take place in Clairefontaine, France, next Thursday (9/4/2024).
Witan admitted that he was proud to be part of the U-23 Indonesian National Team. Remember, the Garuda Muda squad, which was the debut team in the U-23 Asian Cup, successfully made history by making it this far.
“The 4th best in the U23 Asian Cup tournament, proud to be part of this team’s struggle and journey, it’s not easy to get to this phase,” wrote Witan on his personal Instagram account, Monday (6/5/2024).
He realized that all of this did not escape the prayers and support of the Indonesian people. Witan reminded that the Indonesian U-23 National Team still has hopes of playing in the Olympics. Therefore, he asked the public to support each other and fight together to win the final ticket.
“Thank you to all Indonesian people for your prayers, encouragement and support,” he said.
“There is still one more chance to get a ticket to the Olympics in Paris, come on, let’s fight and support each other to get tickets to the Paris Olympics,” continued Witan.
It is known that the Indonesian U-23 national team is currently in France to start their preparations against Guinea U-23. However, the Garuda Muda squad will not be strengthened by Rizky Ridho in the final match because they are still serving their card accumulation penalty.
Apart from that, Justin Hubner has returned to his club, Cerezo Osaka. However, PSSI is trying to borrow the tall defender again to be able to strengthen the Indonesian U-23 National Team against Guinea U-23.
