The President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, referred today to yesterday’s incidents in Pisa and Florence, in which the police used stun guns to remove students and pupils who demonstrated in favor of the Palestinian people.
Many injured
According to what has become known, a total of 18 protesters, many of whom are minors, were injured.
This morning at #Pisa. It has now become a habit to beat students. The images are very strong. We will present a parliamentary question to #Piantedosi. We discuss things with the younger generations. In a statement from the Italian Presidency of the Republic, it is stated:
“The President of the Republic reported to the Minister of the Interior, who agreed with him, that the validity of the police force is not measured by globs, but by the ability to guarantee security while protecting, at the same time, the freedom of public expression of citizens’ opinions” added the Italian president.
